The difference between ASCAP and BMI
ASCAP and BMI are acronyms that many music lovers hear often but don’t really know much about. The letters ASCAP stand for, The American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers and BMI is Broadcast Music Incorporated. ASCAP and BMI are the major Performing Rights Organizations in the U.S. There is also a minor third, SESAC which was originally known as the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers.
