My band has more originality, tightness, and overall talent than half of the up and coming bands that are plastered all over stores, myspace, and national tours today. I’m not a conceited prick, but people who have never met us tell us these things after they see us perform. Music business has dick to do with music. If you have money, you can make it. Likewise if you aren’t rich growing up, you’re fucked. I’m sure bands have to work hard as shit once they’re signed and tour extensively, and that is definitely not a problem. We’re all hard workers and set high goals for ourselves. But when I’m told that I have to pay someone money just to contact a booker, which may not even guarantee me a show, I get really fucking pissed. Exposure comes through paying money, paying for ticket sales, and sucking a lot of cock. Labels could give two shits about bands, their talent, and even their music
